Collection Development Resource

I've added a collection development handout from a CMRLS workshop to the MSLib-SLO Resources page. There are representative authors and poets from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatamala, and Uruguay. This is especially useful if you are thinking of starting a 'classic collection' of Spanish titles. The last page of the handout is a listing of websites for Spanish 'bestseller titles' and non-fiction. Criticas Magazine (http://www.criticasmagazine.com/) is said to be "an English speaker's guide to the latest Spanish-language titles." It is a great resource, there is a list of 100 must have titles at the Criticas Magazine site.

Remember, before you plan a collection...ASK someone what is needed or wanted in the community. I just thought I would share the resource. Also, be sure to check out the Spanish collection development resources at WebJunction (http://www.webjunction.org/do/Navigation?category=15953). There is even a collection development wiki at http://spanishcollections.pbwiki.com/?l=S.
